Indian team won 7th consecutive series after T20 World Cup
Ahmedabad: The Indian team won the last match of the 5-match T20 series against South Africa by 30 runs in the last match of the 5-match T20 series played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and won the series 3-1. Team India came to bat first after losing the toss in this match, in which on the basis of brilliant half-centuries by Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma, it managed to score 232 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. While chasing the target, the South African team made a great start but due to continuous loss of wickets in the middle overs, it managed to reach the score of 201 runs in 20 overs. After the T20 World Cup 2024, this is Team India’s 7th bilateral series win in this format which it managed to win.
Varun Chakraborty and Bumrah showed amazing bowling skills
When the South African team set out to chase the target of 232 runs in the last T20 match against India, the opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks gave a very fast start, in which both of them took the score to 67 runs in the first 6 overs. After this, the first success for Team India was given by Varun Chakraborty who sent Reeza Hendricks to the pavilion on a personal score of 13. After this, Devald Brewis, who came to bat, along with Quinton de Kock did not let the pace of runs slow down, in which a partnership of 51 runs was seen between the two in just 23 balls for the second wicket. Jasprit Bumrah broke this pair which was becoming dangerous for Team India when he showed Quinton de Kock the way to the pavilion on a personal score of 65.
From here, the South African team witnessed a very rapid fall of wickets in which half of the team had returned to the pavilion by the time the score was 135. This also includes the wicket of African captain Aiden Markram who was out after scoring only 6 runs. In this match, the South African team could only manage to reach the score of 201 runs in 20 overs. On behalf of Team India, Varun Chakraborty and Jasprit Bumrah were amazing in bowling. While Chakraborty took 4 wickets giving 53 runs in 4 overs, Bumrah took 2 wickets giving only 17 runs in his 4 overs. Apart from this, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya also managed to take one wicket each.
Hardik and Tilak showed wonders with the bat
On behalf of Team India, Tilak Verma and Hardik Pandya were amazing with the bat in this match. While Tilak, who came to bat at number three in this match, played a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 42 balls, Hardik Pandya was very aggressive with the bat and scored 63 runs in just 25 balls. Apart from this, Sanju Samson played an inning of 37 runs and Abhishek Sharma played an inning of 34 runs.
