The process of direct recruitment has been started on a total of 537 vacant posts of sub-inspector level belonging to confidential, clerical and accounts cadre in Uttar Pradesh Police Department. Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has released the detailed advertisement related to this on its official website on Saturday. Interested candidates can apply online till January 19. Before applying, it has been made mandatory for the candidates to register in the One Time Registration (OTR) system of the Board.
Reservation dispute in accountant recruitment, proposal will be amended
After questions were raised regarding reservation of backward classes in the proposed recruitment for 7,994 posts of Revenue Accountant, the Revenue Council has clarified the situation by sending a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission. The Council has assured the Commission that the revised recruitment proposal will be sent within a week.

In the letter issued by Commissioner and Secretary Kanchan Verma, it has been told that the post of Lekhpal comes under the divisional level cadre and the right of its appointment rests with the Deputy District Magistrate. Based on the details of category-wise working and vacant posts received from the districts by the Divisional Commissioners, the proposal was sent to the Council after assessing the vacancies including reservation (vertical and horizontal). On the basis of this proposal, recruitment details were made available to the Commission.
Possibility of change in category wise vacancies in the released advertisement
It has also been clarified in the letter that before the Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Service (Fourth Amendment) Rules implemented in the year 2022, recruitment of accountants was done at the district level. Recently the Council has received some new information related to category wise posts at the district level. Due to these facts, the possibility of change in category wise vacancies has been expressed in the advertisement issued by the Commission. The Revenue Council has said that a new proposal with the revised figures will be sent to the Commission soon, so that the recruitment process remains completely transparent and any kind of technical or legal error can be avoided.
