He said that the diversity of India’s languages and cultures is our strength. The Prime Minister congratulated the MPs and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha for this work. Now MPs can give speeches in their mother tongue. With this, the views of the MPs will reach the people easily and every region will be represented in the Parliament.
According to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Speaker Birla repeatedly said that this initiative is in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution, as the Constitution recognizes the importance of regional languages. Every language has its own history, culture and identity and this should be recognized at the national level. This initiative was highly appreciated by political leaders and society. This will make the discussions in Parliament more inclusive and easier to understand. MPs will be able to make the debate more effective and clear by speaking in their best language. This move comes at a time when parents, schools and the government are giving more importance to their languages in education, media and work.
