Two teenagers died in a highway collision
Dehri on Son. Two teenagers died after being hit by a speeding highway vehicle near Murli Camp of Rohtas police station area in Rohtas district on Thursday morning. Both the youths were residents of Kalyanpur Bigha village and were preparing for the police recruitment examination. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar (16 years), father Janeshwar Prasad, and Ranjan Kumar (17 years), father Hulas Yadav.
Family members told that both the youth used to do physical exercise by running on the road every morning. Even this morning, when he had left home for a run, a highway truck (BR 01 GP 5036) coming at a high speed on the Dehri-Rohtas main road (NH-119) crushed him.
Ranjan Kumar died on the spot in the accident, while seriously injured Ashish Kumar was hurriedly brought to Rohtas PHC, where doctors declared him dead. It is being told that the concerned Haiwa is working under a contractor in Dalmia Bharat Company.
After the incident, angry villagers blocked NH-119, due to which traffic came to a complete standstill for about two hours. Due to road jam, passengers had to face a lot of problems and people were seen walking for several kilometers.
As soon as the information was received, Police Station Head Nikunj Bhushan Prasad, BDO Rishi Raj and Circle Officer Sushi Kumari reached the spot and after convincing the villagers, got the jam cleared. The police station head assured that prompt action would be taken on the basis of the application of the family members and all possible assistance would be provided to the families of the deceased. Police did Panchnama of both the bodies and sent them to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
