We all have only one wish – Putin should end: Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a message on the eve of Christmas, which has caught the attention of the whole world. In this message, Zelensky not only wished for the death of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but also presented a major compromise proposal, the 20-Point Plan, to end the war.
Zelensky’s wish for Putin?
“No matter how much pain Russia has caused, it is never able to destroy our Ukrainian heart, our trust and our unity,” Zelensky said. Without taking Putin’s name, he said in very strong words, “Today we all have only one dream and we all have only one desire – ‘Let it end’, as everyone says in their mind.” He further said that we pray to God for the peace that we are fighting for and that we deserve.
Outcry over recent Russian bombing
This sharp statement by Zelensky comes after the recent missile and drone attacks by Russia. On Tuesday, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with Kinjal missiles and Shahed drones, which resulted in the loss of three lives and massive power cuts. Zelensky called it an attack by unrighteous people.
Zelensky’s 20-point peace plan
Zelensky shared a ’20-point plan’ at a briefing with journalists to prevent war. He said that Ukraine is ready to withdraw its troops from its eastern industrial region (Donbass). However, he said this would be possible only if Moscow also withdraws its forces and the area becomes a demilitarized zone under the monitoring of international forces. He said the same model could be applied to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (which is currently under Russian control). Zelensky made it clear that a ‘referendum’ would be held in Ukraine before finalizing any peace plan.
