Bravery of Guru Gobind Singh and Sahibzadas is the pride of the country, the strength of India: Narendra Modi
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the bravery of Mata Gujri, Guru Gobind Singh and the four Sahibzadas as the pride of the country and said that their ideals even today give strength and inspiration to every Indian. He said that the future of the country is related to children and youth, hence he expects them to dream big, work hard and not let their confidence weaken.
Addressing the program organized on Veer Bal Diwas here on Friday, Modi said that Veer Sahibzade stood so strongly in front of the cruel Mughal rulers that the existence of Mahjabi fundamentalism was shaken. 20 children honored with the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award were also present in the program.
He said, ‘Veer Sahibzade is the pride of India, the culmination of India’s indomitable courage and bravery. The bravery and ideals of Mata Gujri, Shri Guru Gobind Singh and the four Sahibzadas still give strength to every Indian and are an inspiration for us. The Prime Minister said that whenever 26th December comes, he feels satisfied that this tradition of celebrating Veer Bal Diwas is passing on the bravery of Sahibzadas to the new generation and a platform has also been prepared for this.
Referring to the beginning of the tradition of celebrating Veer Bal Diwas four years ago, he said that the memories of sacrifice and bravery of Indians will not be suppressed nor will the heroes and heroines of the country be marginalised. He said, ‘India has decided that freedom from the mentality of slavery will be water. Now the memories of the sacrifices and bravery of us Indians will not be suppressed, now the heroes and heroines of the country will not be marginalized.
Describing linguistic diversity as the strength of the country, he said that in our country freed from the mentality of slavery, linguistic diversity is becoming our strength. Describing the next 25 years as very important for the development of the country, he said that the role of the young generation will be important in this. Pointing towards the large number of children and youth present in the program, he said, ‘Gen Z and Gen Alpha, your generation will take India to the goal of developed India.’ He said that the future of the country is related to the youth and children, hence he expects them to dream big, work hard and not let their confidence weaken.
The Prime Minister said that every year on the platform of Veer Bal Diwas, those who do something for the country in different fields are given the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award. This year also, 20 children from 18 states have been given these awards. The Prime Minister gave a message to the youth that they should not get caught up in the glitter and glamor of short-term popularity, take inspiration from great personalities and should not consider their success only personal. Their aim should be that their success becomes the success of the country. Campaigns like Digital India, Startup India, Khelo India have given a platform to the youth. Now what is needed is focus, hard work and dedication towards the nation – so that India can move forward as a self-reliant and developed nation.
