Liquor worth lakhs smuggled under the guise of carry bag, two arrested

Ajmer. Under a special campaign, the Excise Department has taken major action against illegal liquor in Kishangarh and seized liquor worth lakhs of rupees. This liquor was manufactured in Chandigarh, which was being taken towards Udaipur via Ajmer. In this case, 18,480 pavs of liquor in 385 curtains of different brands were seized and two smugglers were arrested.

Patrol officer Mahavir Singh said that input was received from Pali Excise Officer Manoj Bissa that a large number of liquor was being smuggled illegally through Kishangarh. On this, blockade was done near Kishangarh toll. During this time, a trailer RJ 02 GB 2769 came from Jaipur, when the driver, Ganpatlal son Narayanlal, resident of Nangavali, Chittorgarh, was interrogated, he said that there was a carry bag in the trailer.

When the answer did not seem satisfactory, the trailer was searched and 385 cartons of liquor of different brands were found hidden under the cover of the curtain of a carry bag. These curtains contain 18480 leaves of different brands, which have been seized and the driver Ganpat Singh and his son Nirmal Ramlal, resident of the same area, have been arrested.

He told that the liquor seized is Chandigarh brand. During preliminary interrogation, both the accused have confessed to taking this liquor towards Udaipur. The Excise Department has seized the trailer and further investigation is underway.
