Mumbai Police have arrested the mother who murdered her six-year-old daughter in Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The team of Kalamboli police station is interrogating the mother who murdered her daughter. The police officer investigating the case said on Sunday that the arrested woman had a Bachelor of Science degree and lived in Kalamboli area with her husband, an IT professional.
The woman took her daughter to a hospital on December 23 and told doctors that her daughter had suddenly become unconscious due to health problems. The medical staff declared the child dead and later informed the Kalamboli police station team.
Police initially registered a case of accidental death and sent the girl’s body for post-mortem. The post-mortem report revealed that the girl had died of suffocation, following which the police registered a case of murder and conducted a thorough investigation of the woman.
During interrogation the woman reportedly confessed that she killed her daughter because she wanted a son and was dissatisfied with the child’s speech and language abilities. After this the police arrested the woman. This woman is also undergoing treatment for depression.
