People paid homage to the great sculptor Shri Ram Sutar: Prakash Chandra Sharma

New Delhi : In the “Bhim Auditorium” of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar International Center located in Delhi, eminent people from the art world and their admirers from all over the country paid homage to Late Shri Ram Vanji Sutar. The program started by lighting the lamp by the family members.

The beautiful statue of Shri Ram Vanji Sutar in the auditorium was decorated with beautiful white flowers which were reflecting his reputation of being a centenarian saint and a simple life. Padmabhushan Shri Ram, who gave life to thousands of idols of the world by giving them concrete form, was still reflecting his ease and dignity on his face. In the packed auditorium, his fans were watching with great intimacy the great works done by him in his life and a small beautiful film made on his life with great emotion.

His disciples and people associated with him were remembering with moist eyes the great creation done by him which was not possible to do in a single life. With tears in his eyes, his son, Dr. Anil Ram Sutar, remembering his guru-like father, remembered the work he had learned from his revered father and the emotional moments spent with him and resolved to further enhance his legacy by taking the guidance given by him as his strength.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his condolence message that the creative talent and dedication of Shriram Vanji Sutar gave recognition to Indian art on the global stage, and many monuments including the Statue of Unity are not just art works but powerful expressions of India’s history, culture and national consciousness.

In his long and dedicated life, Shri Ram Sutar’s sensitivity, devotion and nationalism inherent in his works will continue to inspire the coming generations. The conversation I had with him will always remain in my memories. With his departure, the Indian art world has lost a wonderful artist. He will always remain in the hearts of people along with his art works. The memories, thoughts and life values associated with him will always provide direction to the family. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said in his condolence message that Shri Ram Vanji, decorated with Padma Bhushan, Sutar was such an amazing practitioner of Indian sculpture who has given a tangible form to nationalism and culture with his craftsmanship and creative power.

As the chief architect of the Statue of Unity, he immortalized the towering personality of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the world’s tallest statue which became a global symbol of national unity. The statues of great personalities of the country installed in Parliament and abroad have been unique in their display of subtle expression, realism and depth of emotion.

Former President Ramnath Kovind, in his condolence message, described the demise of Padma Bhushan Shri Ram Sutar as a big loss for the world art world. He said that many former Presidents honored him with their own hands. He said that many sculptures made by him are adorning the gallery of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi in her condolence message described the demise of Shriram Vanji Sutar as an irreparable loss. She said that we have lost a craftsman who used to bring alive the statues of great personalities of India with their personality. Padma Vibhushan Murali Manohar Joshi sent a condolence letter expressing his inability to attend the tribute meeting due to ill health and said that I am hurt by the demise of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan Shriram Vanji Sutar. I pray to God. That God may give place to the virtuous soul at His feet.

Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, in his address at the tribute meeting, paid tribute to him by calling him a unique and great craftsman. Former Union Minister and MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that Padmabhushan Shri Ram Vanji Sutar earned fame in the country as well as in the whole world with his extraordinary craftsmanship. The demise of Sutar, the creator of the Statue of Unity, is an irreparable loss to the Indian craftsmanship world.

Former Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Asre Vishwakarma described the demise of the great craftsman Shriram Sutar as an irreparable loss to the Vishwakarma community as well as the country. His fans in the auditorium remembered him with moist eyes and recalled the emotional moments spent with him. Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Chairman of Marwah Studio, praised the work done by Shriram Sutar for various institutions.

Paying their respects to his valuable contribution, former Vice Chancellor PC Patanjali and senior journalist Dinesh Gaur also remembered the great works of Shriram Sutar and demanded from the government that Padma Bhushan should be made a big institution in the name of Shriram Vanji Sutar which would be the carrier of the message of Indian art and culture to the whole world.

During this, dignitaries including senior journalist Prakash Chandra Sharma, who had come from Rajasthan, were present. During this, journalist Sharma said that Dr. Sutar was a famous sculptor who was decorated with Padmabhushan, Tagore Award and Maharashtra Bhushan.

Many dignitaries participated in the prayer meeting organized on this occasion, in which many people from the Indian art world were present. People coming from different disciplines paid their tributes to him. Grandson Sameer Sutar remembered his valuable guidance and blessings with tearful eyes. Sonali Sutar, the great-granddaughter of Shri Ram Sutar, remembered her beloved grandfather with tearful eyes. At that moment, everyone’s eyes in the auditorium became emotional with tears in the eyes of Shri Ram.

The artistic legacy and contribution of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan Dr. Ram Vanji Sutar, the great architect of the century, was remembered in the gathering. Diksha, associated with DD Samachar, won everyone’s heart by handling the stage with her skillful and emotional words. At the tribute meeting, bhajan singer Ankur Vatra enthralled everyone by singing the best and favorite bhajan of Shri Ram Vanji Sutar.

At the conclusion of the condolence meeting, everyone prayed to God for the spiritual peace of Shri Ram Vanji Sutar and finally Dr. Anil Ram Sutar closed the condolence meeting by thanking everyone.
