Union Home Minister Shah will inaugurate Batadrava Cultural Project in Assam today

Guwahati. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Batdrava Cultural Project at Batdrava in Nagaon district of Assam today. On reaching the project site, the Home Minister will be welcomed in a traditional manner. There is a possibility of presence of about 150 Satradhikars and about 60 thousand devotees and Vaishnavas in the inauguration ceremony. Built at a cost of approximately Rs 227 crore, this huge cultural project has been developed with the aim of preserving and promoting the Vaishnava tradition associated with the great man Srimanta Sankardev and the rich cultural heritage of Assam.

Meanwhile, changes have been made in the program of Union Home Minister Shah. He is planning to reach Guwahati today. His scheduled flight from Ahmedabad to Guwahati on Sunday night was canceled due to dense fog. Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had inspected the venue. According to the Chief Minister, Amit Shah was to reach the popular Gopinath Bardelai International Airport, Barjhar at around 11 pm and from there he was going to rest for the night at the state guest house in Koinadhara Hills, Khanapada.

He told that on Monday morning at 9 am, the Home Minister had a program to visit the Martyrs Memorial in Boragaon, Guwahati to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Assam Movement. After this he had to go to Batadrava and inaugurate the cultural project developed at the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev.

Amit Shah can inaugurate the newly constructed office of Guwahati Police Commissionerate in the latter part of the day today. Apart from this, at around 4 pm he will inaugurate the 5,000-seat state-of-the-art ‘Vishnu Jyoti Kala Mandir’ built near Khanapada Agricultural College. The Home Minister was likely to return to New Delhi today itself, but due to dense fog all programs have been rescheduled. Amit Shah has not been able to reach Guwahati till the time of writing the news.
