Indigo Airline: Indigo canceled 80 of its flights due to dense fog and cold.

New Delhi. Dense fog and cold continue to prevail in most parts of the country. Visibility has reduced significantly due to fog, which has affected flights at many other airports including New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI). Domestic airline IndiGo on Monday canceled 80 of its flights at various airports citing ‘bad weather’.

According to the airline’s website, flights to and from other airports like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Dehradun, Indore, Patna and Bhopal have also been cancelled. In fact, winter and dense fog blanketed the skies of India, forcing IndiGo to cancel 80 flights on its domestic network and spoiling the travel plans of thousands of passengers. Indigo has issued a travel advisory due to fog and cold wave.

Passengers have been advised that foggy conditions still persist at many airports in Delhi and Northern India and visibility has not yet completely improved. As a result, the earlier impact on flight movements is likely to continue till the afternoon and may cause some delays.
