Chandigarh: Akali Dal demonstrated against former Delhi CM in Punjab

Chandigarh,. Shiromani Akali Dal on Saturday demonstrated at the district headquarters of the state to register a case against Delhi opposition leader and former Chief Minister Atishi Marlena for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Guru Sahiban in the state assembly.

Shiromani Akali Dal delegations submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts, in which they urged the Punjab Governor and the Delhi Assembly Speaker to take action against Atishi Marlena.

The memorandum clarified that Atishi had allegedly made derogatory remarks against Guru Sahiban during a special discussion in the Assembly on the supreme sacrifice made by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji to protect religious freedom. It said that these comments are part of the official record of the Delhi Assembly and it is an appropriate case to immediately register a case against the Aam Aadmi Party leader and arrest him for hurting Sikh sentiments. It was also told in the memorandum that a video recording of Atishi making remarks against Guru Sahiban is also being circulated on social media, due to which there is a lot of resentment among the members of the Sikh community.
