German Chancellor arrives in Ahmedabad on a two-day visit to India, will meet PM Modi

Ahmedabad (Gujarat). German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has reached Ahmedabad on a two-day visit to India. He is proposed to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during this visit. A submarine deal worth Rs 52,500 crore may be sealed during the meeting.

Trade, investment, defense and cutting-edge technology as well as the submarine deal, which is very important for India, are likely to be discussed in the meeting between the two leaders. This visit of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is taking place at a time when there is instability in global politics. Both India and Germany want to take defense cooperation to new heights. This is Merz’s first visit to Asia after becoming German Chancellor. This tour is being considered very important.

The biggest agenda of this visit is the proposal to purchase six state-of-the-art submarines for the Indian Navy. This deal is said to be worth around Rs 52,500 crore. Under this agreement, there can be a partnership between Germany’s leading defense company Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and India’s Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. This deal will play a big role in strengthening India’s maritime power. Apart from the meeting with Prime Minister Modi in Ahmedabad, Friedrich Merz will visit Sabarmati Ashram. He will also participate in a kite festival and a skill development programme.
