German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reached India, welcomed in Ahmedabad

New Delhi. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reached India today on a two-day official visit. This is his first official visit to India after assuming office. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat welcomed him warmly at Ahmedabad airport.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while sharing information on the news, said that Chancellor Friedrich Merz has reached Ahmedabad on an official visit. He said that 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Germany and 25 years of India-Germany strategic partnership are being completed.

It is noteworthy that this visit is taking place on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the visit, Chancellor Merz is proposed to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which various aspects of bilateral cooperation are expected to be discussed. The proposed meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to further strengthen the India-Germany partnership.
