Confidence returning to life due to intensive health promotion campaign in Bhagirathpura
Indore. The positive results of the prompt and effective action taken by the government and administration after the water-borne incident in Bhagirathpura area of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh are now clearly visible. As per the intention of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, health promotion campaign is being conducted on a large scale, giving top priority to the health safety of the citizens in the area. Through this campaign, not only diseases are being identified, but a solid foundation is also being laid to deal with any possible future health challenge.
50 teams, more than 200 health workers, direct access to every house. More than 200 trained health workers deployed in 50 teams of the Health Department in Bhagirathpura area are active 24×7. These teams are reaching door-to-door and examining citizens on about 20 prescribed health parameters. Under the campaign, regular follow-up of the affected citizens is being ensured and health card is being provided to every citizen, so that systematic maintenance of their health records can be possible.
As per the intention of the Chief Minister, the target of “zero inconvenience in treatment”
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Madhav Hasani said on Monday that Dr. Mohan Yadav has a clear intention that no citizen of Bhagirathpura area should be deprived of treatment. In accordance with this vision, this campaign is being conducted at a constant pace under the direction of Collector Shivam Verma. He said that by starting a health promotion campaign in the area, a target has been set to conduct comprehensive health check-up of about 60 thousand citizens of the area in the next 6 days. Under the campaign, health check-up of about 12 thousand 521 citizens has been completed so far in the last three days. When serious diseases are identified, the concerned citizens are being immediately connected to high level treatment.
Treatment on the spot, identification on time – this is the specialty of the campaign. Hassani said that during the campaign, diseases like vomiting and diarrhea as well as other common health problems are being treated on the spot. Besides, a systematic arrangement for referral has also been made when necessary. With this, citizens are getting relief from visiting hospitals and an environment of trust has been created.
Investigation is being done on detailed parameters
He said that during the health check-up, many important parameters including dehydration level, MUAC, nutritional status, haemoglobin, anemia, blood pressure, blood sugar, hypertension, follow-up of cases of vomiting and diarrhoea, health condition of pregnant and lactating mothers, serious diseases are being checked. This campaign has been specially designed keeping in mind the health of children, women and the elderly.
Also a strong foundation towards long term health security
Many citizens including local residents Anita Yadav, Shailendra Ajite, Vimla Bai, Jagdish Mehar, Anand Verma, Jai Sunhare and Lakshmi Wankhede say that through this initiative they are not only getting information about problems like vomiting and diarrhoea, but are also getting timely information about sugar, blood pressure and other serious diseases. This will make it possible to prevent any major health crisis in future. This initiative of the health promotion campaign conducted in Bhagirathpura is not only proving helpful in controlling the current situation, but is also laying a strong foundation towards long-term health security.
