In case of pipeline excavation Eagle P.C. Snehal J.V. Notice issued to company

Jabalpur. Safety standards are being openly flouted in the work of laying pipelines under the Amrit 2.0 project in Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh. Taking the matter seriously, on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar, the Municipal Corporation on Tuesday ordered the concerned contract company Eagle P.C. Snehal J.V. A notice has been issued and instructions have been given to improve the work.

Executive Engineer Water Kamlesh Srivastava, M.S. running in front of Akash Ganga Hotel and Jabalpur Engineering College. Conducted a surprise inspection of the jackpushing work of the pipeline. During inspection, it was found that the company was carrying out deep digging ignoring basic safety arrangements.

According to officials, the depth of the driving and receiving pits is quite high, but necessary measures have not been taken to protect them. Due to this, the walls of the pits are sinking, posing a serious threat to the lives of the workers working there.

“This negligence is a clear violation of the tender conditions and Annexure W Construction safety clause 7A. Any kind of compromise with the safety of workers will not be tolerated. The Municipal Corporation has ordered the unsafe work to be stopped with immediate effect and has directed the company to make improvements. Bracing and shoring should be used immediately to prevent the pits from sinking.

Proper stairs should be arranged for workers to enter and exit the pit. The excavated soil should be kept at a safe distance of at least 1.5 meters from the edge of the pit so that the walls do not collapse due to pressure.

If the company does not improve the safety standards immediately, then under the tender conditions, action like imposing heavy fine and blacklisting the company can also be taken. At present, instructions have been given to stop work at the concerned sites and strengthen security arrangements.
