Voting begins for 299 seats amid tight security in Bangladesh for the 13th parliamentary election.

Dhaka. Voting for the 13th parliamentary election in Bangladesh began at 7.30 am today on 299 seats amid tight security. Voting will close at 4:30 pm at 42,659 polling stations across the country. Out of 300 seats, elections on Sherpur-3 have been postponed after the death of a candidate. The total number of voters on 299 seats is 127,298,522. The election is taking place in a national referendum along with a national parliament.

They will vote at the Gulshan Model School and College Center in the capital at 10 am, according to the press wing of interim government chief and key adviser Professor Mohammad Yunus, the Dhaka Tribune reported. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) President Tariq Rahman will also reach the same center between 9:30 am and 10 am. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman voted in Monipur at 8 am. This time a total of 2,028 candidates are in the fray. According to the Election Commission, counting of votes will start after the voting is over. The results of most seats will be out by midnight.
