Khaleda Zia’s son Tariq Rehman will be the next PM of the country

Bangladesh Elections: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has registered a bumper victory in the general elections held in Bangladesh. BNP has emerged as the largest party in the parliamentary elections. According to the unofficial results of Ittefaq newspaper so far, BNP has won 158 seats, Jamaat has won 41 seats and others have won 5 seats. BNP had earlier announced that if it won the election, its chairman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s son Tariq Rahman would be the next Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) spokesperson Mahdi Amin had earlier said that his party was confident of winning the elections. He had said that BNP would win the elections and form the government. Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Shafiqur Rehman had said that even if his party does not win the elections, it will not indulge in the politics of obstructing the opposition. Rahman said that we will do positive politics.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairman Tariq Rahman has won both the seats Dhaka-17 and Bogra-6. Tariq Rehman not only retained his family heritage seat Bogra-6, but also hoisted the flag of victory on the capital’s high-profile seat Dhaka-17.

Let us tell you that. The Parliament of Bangladesh consists of 350 members. 300 are directly elected, while 50 are reserved for women. This happens through the first-past-the-post system. Here the tenure of the Parliament is 5 years.
