Nawada . After the selection of Nawada district in the proposal of the Central and State Government for setting up new sugar mills in dozens of districts of Bihar, a meeting regarding land selection was organized at the District Council Dak Bungalow in Warisaliganj city on Friday. In which the members of Warisaliganj Sugar Mill Sangharsh Committee thanked Nawada MP Vivek Thakur and praised his proposal.
It was said in the meeting that due to years of working in Warisaliganj, a unit of Bihar State Sugar Corporation, MP Vivek Thakur has given first preference to Warisaliganj in Nawada district due to the emotional connection of farmers with the technology of sugarcane production. Under the leadership of Block’s Western District Councilor Anjani Singh and JDU leader Dr. Ravikant alias Ajay Singh, hundreds of members of Warisaliganj Sugar Mill Sangharsh Committee have organized a meeting for years and have identified about 70 acres of land of Bihar Government adjacent to the electricity power grid located on Warisaliganj-Kharathan road.
Apart from this, the members have selected approximately 100 acres of Anavad Bihar Government land to the east of Manigarh Maidan situated in Daryapur-Masankhaman-Makanpur and proposed it to MP Vivek Thakur. The members expressed their happiness by applying colors among themselves to see the well-known demands of Warisaliganj coming true over the years. Hundreds of intellectuals walked from Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow to Main Chowk, the heart of the city. While marching, slogans of long live Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and MP Vivek Thakur were raised.
It is noteworthy that after the closure of Warisaliganj Sugar Mill in the year 1993, to make it operational again has been one of the main demands in every Assembly and Lok Sabha election for the last 32 years, especially for Warisaliganj. However, Adani Group’s cement factory is currently under construction on the closed land of the sugar mill. There is happiness among the farmers, laborers and businessmen of the area due to the news of re-establishment of the sugar mill factory.
