Dalit youth stabbed to death in dispute, angry people blocked road

Baliya. A 40-year-old Dalit youth was stabbed to death near Samwara under Rasra police station of Ballia. Angered by the murder of a Dalit youth in Sarerah, people blocked the Ballia-Rasra highway. People moved away from the road when the officials informed about the arrest of two of the three named accused.

SP Omveer Singh said that Satyaprakash Ram, a resident of Sanvra of Rasra Kotwali, was going home at around 4 o’clock on Saturday evening. On the way, there was an altercation with some people near the country liquor vend. Some of the youths, while arguing, stabbed Satya Prakash. Due to which he died on the spot.

As soon as the doctors at Rasra CHC declared him dead, the villagers became angry. People blocked the road near Sanvra. As soon as the information was received, SDM Ravi Kumar and CO Rasra Alok Gupta reached the spot. The officials pacified the people by explaining. Omprakash, brother of deceased Satyaprakash, wrote a named report against three people of the same age.

The SP, who reached the spot, said that the local police reached the spot and took possession of the body of the deceased youth and sent it to the Mortuary House Ballia for post-mortem. A case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. Two people are being detained and interrogated. Efforts are being made to arrest other accused. Adequate police force is present at the spot. There is no law and order related problem.
