New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla reached Dhaka on Tuesday to represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government in Bangladesh. He was welcomed by Interim Government Foreign Advisor M Tauheed Hussain at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) President Tariq Rahman will take oath as Prime Minister.

Om Birla wrote on social media platform X but called it an honor for him. He said that it is an honor for me to represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of the new government led by Tariq Rehman as Prime Minister. This is an important moment, which will further strengthen the people-to-people ties and shared democratic values ​​of the two countries.
