Om Birala reached Dhaka to attend the oath ceremony of the new government in Bangladesh.
New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla reached Dhaka on Tuesday to represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government in Bangladesh. He was welcomed by Interim Government Foreign Advisor M Tauheed Hussain at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) President Tariq Rahman will take oath as Prime Minister.
Om Birla wrote on social media platform X but called it an honor for him. He said that it is an honor for me to represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of the new government led by Tariq Rehman as Prime Minister. This is an important moment, which will further strengthen the people-to-people ties and shared democratic values of the two countries.
It is noteworthy that leaders of other countries of the world are also reaching Dhaka to attend the swearing-in ceremony. On the invitation of Chief Advisor Yunus, many prominent foreign guests including Maldives President Muhammad Muizzoo, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Foreign Ministers of Sri Lanka and Nepal and some other countries are also reaching Dhaka to attend the ceremony.
