UP board exams start from 18th, more than 53 lakh candidates will appear

Lucknow. The high school and intermediate board examinations of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council for the year 2026 will be conducted from February 18 to March 12, 2026. A total of 53,37,778 candidates are registered this year, which includes 27,61,696 high school students and 25,76,082 intermediate students. To conduct the examinations in a completely cheating, transparent and well-organized manner, a total of 8033 examination centers have been created in the state, which includes 596 government, 3453 non-government aided and 3984 self-financed schools.

Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi inaugurated the state level control room established in the office of the Director of Education (Secondary), Lucknow Camp, on Tuesday before the examination. He said that as per the intention of the Chief Minister, this year the examination system has been made completely technology based and transparent. 18 districts have been declared sensitive, while 222 examination centers have been kept in the highly sensitive and 683 in the sensitive category.

STF and local intelligence units at these centers will be kept active throughout the examination period and inspection of highly sensitive centers has been ensured twice a day. To monitor the examination, two CCTV cameras with voice recorders have been installed in each examination room, along with which router, DVR and high-speed internet facility has been provided.

Live monitoring of the entire examination period will be done through webcasting. The strong rooms set up at the examination centers will be under 24×7 CCTV surveillance. Apart from this, the strong room, question paper distribution room and answer sheet sealing-packing room of every examination center of all 75 districts will also be monitored online.
