U-turn of the weather, after the hottest day, alert of heavy rain issued

Delhi: A big change is being seen in the weather patterns in the country’s capital Delhi. There was a slight drop in temperatures on Tuesday, just a day after recording the hottest day of the year, but the real change is likely to happen on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain and strong winds in the capital on Wednesday.

Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Lodhi Road at 12.6 degrees Celsius and Ridge at 12.2 degrees Celsius, the IMD said. The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Delhi’s main observatory was recorded at 30.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Ayanagar at 29.9 degrees Celsius and Palam at 29.1 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain for Wednesday, accompanied by strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour during the afternoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted the maximum temperature to be around 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to be around 14 degrees Celsius.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) on Tuesday was recorded at 249, which falls in the ‘poor’ category. According to the CPCB, AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
