Three-day spring festival will be celebrated from 27th February, Governor said – festival of nature and employment promotion.

Dehradun. A three-day Vasantotsav will be organized at Uttarakhand Lok Bhavan from 27th February to 1st March. In this regard, a curtain raiser program was organized at Lok Bhavan on Friday in the presence of Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd).

On this occasion, Governor Singh said that Vasantotsav is not just a festival, but a special occasion for nature, tradition and nature lovers. It is a declaration of healthy and social life, harmony, economic progress and new life. He said that this festival opens doors to the spirit of life and new possibilities and will become a medium to accelerate new employment opportunities in the hilly and border areas.

This will also encourage local products and employment. He said that innovation will be used in the flower exhibition programme. He said that flowers convey the message of reverence, life and nature and awaken inner feelings. Through Vasantotsav, public awareness towards nature conservation and cultural heritage will also increase.

More than 30 departments are participating during this period. Programs will be organized to promote local and Uttarakhand culture. Three farmers will be honored for their work in the agricultural sector.

As per the schedule, Vasanthatsav will be open to the public on 27th February from 1 pm to 6 pm, on 28th February from 9 am to 6 pm and on 1st March from 9 am to 6 pm. The organizers have appealed to the people of the state to participate enthusiastically in the festival.
