Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav laid the foundation stone of Sagar Reservoir renovation work in Mundawar.

Khairthal-Tijara. Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav, while laying the foundation stone of the renovation work of Sagar Reservoir located on Bawdi Road, said that water conservation is the biggest need of the present time and saving water is the true service to Mother Earth. He said that when he had earlier come to this area during a cricket match, he had stressed the need to increase the water storage capacity in view of the natural environment and possibilities here, as a result of which this important scheme is being started today.

He said that the renovation of Sagar reservoir will make permanent storage of rain water possible, which will increase the ground water level of the area and provide relief from water crisis in Mundawar and surrounding areas. He called upon the local citizens to form a committee for the conservation and better operation of this scheme and play an active role in increasing the greenery around the reservoir, planting trees on the roadside and developing this area as an ideal green area.

Laying special emphasis on the conservation of Aravalli ranges, the Union Minister said that it is extremely important to stop illegal mining and this is the biggest service to Mother Earth. He directed the Forest Department officials to plant as much local species of plants as possible in the area and to conserve some areas and develop naturally green areas, so that environmental balance is maintained and natural resources are available to the animals as well.

Yadav said that creation of water is not possible, only its conservation and re-use can be done. He said that the availability of fresh water in the country is limited, hence concerted efforts are necessary towards water conservation and water reuse. Referring to the 34 MLD plant water purification and storage project in progress in Bhiwadi, he said that the treated water can be used in industries, which will save fresh water and better management of water resources will be possible. He said that the restoration of Sagar Reservoir is an important initiative towards environmental protection and water conservation, which can become an ideal model.

During this, former MLA Ramhet Yadav, Dairy Chairman Nitin Sangwan, Bannaram Meena, Mohit Yadav, Inder Yadav, Anjali Yadav and senior public representatives and intellectuals were present.
