A truck filled with paddy crushed a motorcyclist, the young man died at his home.
Gariaband. There was a massive head-on collision between a paddy-laden truck and a motorcycle near Chichia on National Highway 130 C in Devbhog of Gariaband district late on Monday evening. The truck ran over the motorcyclist, who died on the spot. The young man sitting behind on the motorcycle has been seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident was so severe that the remains of the dead body of the cyclist were scattered up to a distance of 15 meters. The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Ashok Yadav. Another youth was sitting behind in the motorcycle, who got seriously injured after falling far. Both were returning from Odisha after attending a social program.
According to the information, the incident took place in Devbhog police station area. Both the people riding the motorcycle had gone to attend a social program in Odisha along with relative Gudiya Yadav. He met with an accident while returning from the program. The truck filled with paddy had gone towards Gariaband.
He hit the motorcyclist coming in the opposite direction hard. The motorcycle got stuck in the front part of the truck, during which the motorcycle driver got hit by the rear wheel. The driver crushed the young man with his truck. The truck did not stop after the accident and continued moving ahead, dragging the stranded motorcycle.
Police chased and stopped the truck near Barwahli. Devbhog police station in-charge Faizul Huda Shah said that as soon as the information was received, the truck was cordoned off and stopped. Action is being taken by detaining the driver.
