Attack on police van in Pakistan, three police personnel including DSP killed
Islamabad. Suspected terrorists opened fire on a police van in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Lachi Tehsil Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Asad Mahmood and three policemen lost their lives in this attack. Four other people were injured in the attack.
According to Pakistan Radio, the incident occurred on February 24 in Shakardara area of Kohat district. According to Kohat Police, the injured have been shifted to the district hospital of Kohat. Police have started a search operation in the area to catch the terrorists.
President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned this incident. He paid tribute to martyred DSP Asad Mahmood and other officers. Zardari expressed condolences to the families of the martyred officers. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi have strongly condemned the attack on police in Kohat.
