Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Israeli President Isaac Herzog, planted a tree in his mother’s name
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Thursday. The Prime Minister thanked the President for his steadfast support in strengthening the special India-Israel partnership. The two leaders explored ways to enhance cooperation in education, start-ups, innovation, technology and connectivity.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said that Prime Minister Modi planted a tree in the Rashtrapati Garden under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ initiative. The Prime Minister also invited President Herzog to visit India in the near future. President Herzog shared a video on Twitter and said that the people of India and Israel are stronger together.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited ‘World Holocaust Remembrance Centre’ Yad Vashem. This was the Prime Minister’s second visit to Yad Vashem. The Prime Minister paid tribute to the victims of the massacre. The Prime Minister visited the Book of Names Hall, where the memory of millions of people who died during the genocide is preserved. This monument is a reminder of the determination to stand against the cruelty and injustice of the past and build a better world.
