In East Champaran, street vendors demonstrated at the city council office.

East Champaran. Raxaul Municipal Council is continuously taking action to remove encroachments in the city. In order to get rid of the problem of traffic jam, the Municipal Council team is removing encroachments from the main road of the city every day. Amidst all this, the vendors setting up shops on the footpath in the Municipal Council area demonstrated on Thursday.

The protesters say that the city council should arrange for a wedding zone here. If we are given space to set up our shop, we will not set up shop on the road. The protesters said that there was talk of setting up a shop on railway land, but there is talk of filing an FIR by the Railways for setting up a shop there. It is the festival season, so due to everyday problems, we are facing the problem of livelihood. We have come to demand from the administration that instead of setting up shops on the footpath, a designated place should be made available.

Municipal Council Executive Officer (EO) Dr. Manish Kumar said that action will be taken as per rules, action will be taken against encroachers who are illegally selling goods on the divider in the middle of the road. If any shopkeeper sets up his shop back from the drain, the city council will also help him. People are parking cars and motorcycles illegally on the road. They parked their car in the designated parking lot.
