Greater Noida. A mountain of sorrow has fallen on the family of Rinku Singh, the young and explosive batsman of the Indian cricket team. His father Khanchand Singh died late night at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida after prolonged illness. Khanchand Singh was suffering from stage-4 liver cancer and was hospitalized for about three days.
Difficult times for Rinku
As soon as he got information about his father’s critical condition, Rinku came to meet his father during the T20 World Cup 2026. But he rejoined the team before the match against Zimbabwe. Rinku is returning immediately after receiving the news of his father’s demise. Till now it is not clear whether he will be a part of Team India in the future tournament or not.
Father’s hard work and contribution
Khanchand Singh used to work as a cylinder distributor at a gas agency in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Despite financial constraints, he fully supported his son Rinku in fulfilling his cricket dream. Rinku also initially helped her father in the work of cylinder distribution and while fighting poverty, made her place on the cricket field.
