President created history by flying in ‘Prachanda’, became the first co-pilot President

Jaisalmer. President Draupadi Murmu took off in the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter ‘Prachanda’ from Jaisalmer Air Force Station on Friday. She has become the first President of the country to fly as a co-pilot in ‘Prachanda’.

The President reached the Air Force station at around 9:15 am today, where she was given technical information about the helicopter. After this she sat in the cockpit and at around 10:15 in the morning Group Captain N.S. Flew with daughter-in-law. During the flight of about 25 minutes, he conducted aerial inspection of border areas and Pokhran Field Firing Range. He also saluted from the cockpit during the flight.

President Murmu had earlier been the first President to fly in fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30 MKI and Rafale. Flying over the famous Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Durg) of Jaisalmer, the President addressed the countrymen through a radio message. She said- Today I am flying in Prachanda helicopter. It is a strong symbol of self-reliance. I proudly thank the brave soldiers of the country. My loving greetings to all. Hail India.

The biggest air force exercise ‘Vayu Shakti-2026’ will be held on Friday evening at the Pokhran Field Firing Range near the Pakistan border, in which President Murmu will be present as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

It is noteworthy that three years ago, on the Ashtami day of Navratri, the Hyprachandhan helicopter was inducted into the Air Force fleet. At that time, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had also flown in it and described it as a symbol of India’s self-reliant defense capability.
