Jhansi. In Premnagar police station area in the morning, a crazy lover attacked a woman with a knife and left her dead. The attacker tried hard to escape from the police, but seeing the police tightening their grip, the accused committed suicide by hanging himself near Jugnu Marriage Hall.
The woman is being treated in a critical condition at the medical college. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and sent the body of the youth for post-mortem. While giving a complaint to the police, Rakesh Sahu, a resident of Nainagarh of Premnagar police station area, said that his wife Maya Devi was preparing their daughter at home around 11 pm.
Then accused Mahendra Sahu entered inside her house, closed the door from inside and attacked Maya with a knife. He didn’t even get a chance to recover from the sudden attack. The innocent girl got scared after seeing this and ran and climbed onto the roof. He shouted from the rooftop and called the people of the neighborhood to help his mother.
Seeing this the attacker Mahendra ran away from there. The incident of stabbing a woman with knives in broad daylight spread a sensation in the entire area. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Premnagar police station reached the spot, sent the injured woman to the hospital for treatment and started actively searching for the accused.
Police said that the accused Mahendra Sahu is a relative of Maya Devi. About one and a half years ago, Mayadevi along with Mahendra had gone to Ahmedabad with her small child. After staying for twenty days, Mayadevi started living with her husband. But there were constant disputes in the house regarding Mayadevi and Mahendra’s phone conversations.
On which the husband had also stopped Mayadevi’s phone conversation with Mahendra. Angered by this, Mahendra reached Maya’s house on Saturday afternoon with a knife in his hand and attacked her severely with the knife, injuring her.
Seeing the police activity and siege, Mahendra got scared and committed suicide by making a noose of rope and tying it around his neck near Jugnu Marriage Hall, located at some distance from Premnagar police station.
Police station in-charge Tulsiram Pandey said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. Dr. Shamim Qureshi, EMO of the Medical College, said – Maya Devi was brought by the police in an injured condition. There were knife attacks on his chest, stomach, neck, mouth and hands. His condition is very critical. He is being treated under the supervision of doctors.
