Loss worth lakhs due to fire in bakery
Auraiya. A massive fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at Maa Vaishno Bakery located in Gandhi Nagar locality of Ajitmal town of Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh. There was chaos in the area due to fire in the bakery operating in a three-storey house. The police and fire department, which reached the spot after receiving the information, brought the fire under control after about two hours of hard work, but by then most of the stuff in the establishment was burnt to ashes. According to preliminary estimates, there has been a loss of around Rs 15 to 20 lakh in the incident.
Establishment owner Saurabh Porwal told that he had closed the shutters at around 11 pm and gone to his house in Arya Nagar. The neighbor called and informed that the bakery was on fire.
As soon as the information was received, the Kotwali police along with town in-charge Uday Prakash reached the spot. The police started efforts to extinguish the fire by breaking the shutter and informed the fire department. Fire Department SI Devesh Tiwari and his team climbed onto the roof of the neighboring house and broke the rear window and poured water inside. The fire vehicle had to be filled with water again and again. Control could be brought under control after about two hours. Due to the promptness of the police and fire department, the nearby houses remained safe and a major accident was averted.
Family members of neighbor Shivgovind Sengar told that when they came out after hearing sounds like firecrackers, they saw flames rising from the house. He immediately raised an alarm and informed the operator. The bakery operator said that there was a loss of about Rs 15 to 20 lakh due to the fire. The police is investigating the matter
