Oil tanker attacked off Oman coast, one Indian dead
Dubai/Oman. Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, an oil tanker northwest of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Port was targeted. An Indian citizen lost his life in an attack on an oil tanker by a remote-controlled boat on Monday, while other crew members were rescued safely.
According to media reports, the incident occurred when the tanker was moving in the sea carrying about 59,463 metric tons of cargo. The attack caused a massive explosion and fire in the ship’s main engine room. The ship suffered serious damage after the accident.
