Holi holiday in stock market today, there will be no trading on BSE and NSE
New Delhi. Today is a holiday in the domestic stock market on the occasion of Holi. In many parts of the country, the festival of Holi is being celebrated on 03rd and 04th March, but in the domestic stock market, Holi holiday has been declared on 03rd March only.
According to the annual holiday calendar released by BSE and NSE, there will be no trading today due to Holi holiday. Talking about the commodity market, there will be no trading in the morning session in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), but there will be normal trading in the evening session.
That means trading on MCX will happen from 5 pm to 11 pm like other days. According to the holiday calendar of the Stock Exchange, apart from the weekly holiday of Saturday and Sunday, there will be three additional days of holiday in the month of March.
After today’s holiday, there will be a holiday in the stock market on 26th March on the occasion of Shri Ram Navami, while on 31st March there will be a holiday in the stock market due to Mahavir Jayanti. That means apart from the weekly holiday, there will be a total of three trading holidays this month.
A total of 16 trading holidays have been announced in the stock exchange during the year 2026. Out of these 16 holidays, there have been two holidays in January. There is going to be a trading holiday for three days in March, while in the month of April, there will be Good Friday on 3rd and Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th.
After this, there will be a trading holiday in the stock market on 1st of May on the occasion of Maharashtra Day, while on 28th there will be a holiday in the stock market due to Bakrid. Next month, on 26th June, the stock market will remain closed due to Moharram.
After this, there will be no trading holidays in July and August. In the month of August, there is also a holiday on 15th August on the occasion of Independence Day, but this year because 15th August falls on a Saturday, it will be a weekly holiday instead of a trading holiday.
There will be Ganesh Chaturthi holiday on 14th in the month of September. After this, there will be trading holiday in the month of October due to Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd and Dussehra on 20th October. There will be two days trading holiday in the month of November also.
This month, there will be a Diwali holiday on 10th November, while the stock market will remain closed on 24th November on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The last trading holiday of the year will be on December 25, on the occasion of Christmas.
