The accused fled from the spot. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem and started investigating the case.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shyamakant said that the 12th class student, resident of Baidari Ehatmali village, was sleeping in the verandah after having food late on Monday night. At night, Mandeep, a youth from the village, entered the house and shot and killed the student. The first bullet hit the head and the second bullet hit the chest.

When the mother of the student who was sleeping at the door tried to catch her, the accused pointed the weapon at her too. When the family and villagers woke up after hearing the sound of gunshot, the accused ran away threatening the woman. CO Kalwari reached the spot after getting information about the incident and Additional Superintendent of Police Basti conducted the investigation.

Family members came to know that their daughter was a 12th class student who was appearing for the board exams this year. The allegation is that Mandeep had a love affair with his daughter by luring her into his love trap. During this, objectionable videos and photographs were taken. Fed up with his actions, when the daughter started getting rid of him, she made those videos and photos public.

In this case, a case was registered against him in many serious cases including rape in Kalwari police station. Since then the accused was absconding. Mandeep reached home late at night and ran away after committing the crime.

Additional Superintendent of Police said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. On the basis of the family’s complaint, a case has been registered and teams have been deployed to arrest the accused.
