Impact of Gulf crisis: Dubai airspace closed, 350 couriers stranded, exporters’ orders stuck

Lucknow . The impact of obstruction in air routes passing over the Gulf countries and temporary closure of airspace is now clearly visible on the local export business. About 350 couriers sent to America and Middle East countries are stuck at Dubai Airport, due to which exporters are worried.

According to the information, the samples of handicraft products were to reach America and other Gulf countries in three days, but due to the closure of Dubai airspace due to Israel-Iran war, the parcels are not able to reach on time. Exporters say that foreign buyers confirm orders only after they like the samples, hence the delay will also affect business deals.

Satpal, secretary of The Handicraft Exporters Association, said that due to the war, not only the shipment of samples but also the shipment of confirmed orders is being affected. At the same time, YES Chairman JP Singh said that courier companies are already sending information about the delay to the customers.

According to courier companies, more than 500 handicraft products are sent abroad every day from the district, out of which about 250 couriers go to America and Middle East countries via Dubai. Now alternative air routes are being used, due to which costs are expected to increase. Exporters fear that if the situation does not return to normal soon, both competition and orders in the foreign market may be affected. At present, businessmen are waiting for the situation to become normal.
