Congress declared six candidates for Rajya Sabha elections, list of candidates released
New Delhi. Congress has announced its six candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections, in which senior leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has again been made the candidate from Telangana. Apart from Singhvi, the party has nominated Phulo Devi Netam from Chhattisgarh, Karamveer Singh Boudh from Haryana, Anurag Sharma from Himachal Pradesh, M. Christopher Tilak from Tamil Nadu and V Narendra Reddy from Telangana.
Releasing the list on Thursday morning, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that party president Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the names of these candidates. Netam is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Chhattisgarh and Singhvi is also from Telangana.
The tenure of both is ending in April. It is noteworthy that voting is to be held on 37 Rajya Sabha seats of 10 states on March 16. Today is the last date for nomination. The tenure of the current MPs of all these seats is ending in April.
