Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the foundation day celebrations of CISF in Odisha today.
New Delhi. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will address the 57th Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as the chief guest at Mundli, Odisha today. According to the Home Ministry, Shah will also lay the foundation stone of the new campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Bhubaneswar on the occasion. Along with this, he will also virtually inaugurate the transit campus of NFSU. The Home Minister will perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) near the NFSU campus.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Home Secretary, Founder Vice-Chancellor of NFSU and other dignitaries will be present in the program. During this, Shah will virtually inaugurate several police station buildings and also inaugurate command and control and other facilities in several police stations with the aim of strengthening the police infrastructure under various initiatives of the Home Ministry.
Apart from this, MoUs will also be signed with Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar and National Defense University. The Bhubaneswar campus of NFSU is being considered an important step towards strengthening the forensic and investigation related infrastructure in the state. This permanent campus, to be built on 40 acres of land allotted by the Government of Odisha, will be developed as a center of excellence in forensic and allied sciences.
This temporary campus of NFSU is starting its operations with three academic programmes—MSc Forensic Science, MSc Digital Forensics and Information Security and LLM Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation.
