Due to financial constraints, husband killed his wife and committed suicide by hanging himself.
Indore. A heart-wrenching incident came to light on Tuesday morning in Pardeshipura police station area of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. A man living in street number-3 first killed his wife and then committed suicide by hanging himself. The incident spread sensation in the entire area.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Eknath Wagh, while the body of his wife Rohini (38) was found in a suspicious condition in another room of the house. In the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that Eknath murdered his sleeping wife by pressing her mouth and later hanged herself. No suicide note has been recovered from the spot.
Children saw their father hanged
According to the information, at around 8 am on Tuesday morning, Eknath had sent his two sons Mohit (17) and Mayank (13) to get milk. When the two children returned after about 20 minutes, they found their father hanging. After this the children informed their family members and neighbors.
Broken bangles found near wife’s dead body
Police also found broken bangles near Rohini’s body from the spot. Due to this, it is feared that there might have been a conflict between the husband and wife. The police have taken possession of both the bodies and sent them for postmortem and have started investigating the matter.
According to family members, Eknath earlier worked as an auto mechanic, but after the increase in e-rickshaws, his work got affected. After this he got involved in stock market work. It is being told that he suffered huge loss in this and his savings were lost.
The family was struggling with financial crisis.
According to the information, due to financial problems the couple had also sold their two houses. First, the house located in Jeevan Ki Fail area was sold for around Rs 9 lakh and later the second house in MR-10 area was sold for around Rs 6 lakh. At present the family was living in a rented room in Pardeshipura area for about one and a half years.
Brother told – was worried about loan
The deceased’s elder brother Santosh told that Eknath was worried about debt for a long time. It was his birthday on Tuesday. When I got a call from my nephew in the morning, I thought he was going to wish me a happy birthday, but he gave me the sad news of my brother’s death.
Police are investigating
According to the police, the landlord lives below the house and there has been no information about any outsider coming and going in the house at night. According to the children, the atmosphere at home at night was normal.
Additional DCP Amarendra Singh said that the police is interrogating the nearby people and relatives. Clear information about the reasons for the incident will be known only after the postmortem report comes.
