Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again on two-day Assam tour from today

Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once again coming to Assam on a two-day visit from today. During his visit, he will gift development projects worth Rs 36,279 crore to the state. Since assuming the office of Prime Minister, he has visited Assam more than 40 times, which is indeed an extraordinary and historic political event for this state.

After the formation of NDA government in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a huge public meeting in Kokrajhar today. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will dedicate development projects worth Rs 4,574 crore to the people of BTC and inaugurate several important initiatives. These include road construction projects worth Rs 1,100 crore, as well as flagging off three new train services, Kamakhya-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, Narangi-Agartala Express and Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express.

Under ‘Assam Mala 3.0’, projects involving 883 km of roads and 36 new bridges will also be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 3,217 crore. The special thing is that during the event to be held in Guwahati on March 13, development projects worth about Rs 8,841 crore will be inaugurated or dedicated to the public. These projects include Farkating-Tinsukia Railway Doubling Project at a cost of Rs 3,633 crore, Electrification of Chaparmukh-Dibrugarh Railway Line at a cost of Rs 1,180 crore and Rangia-Murkongselen Railway Electrification Project at a cost of Rs 421 crore.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the ropeway project to be built from Kamakhya Railway Station to Kamakhya Temple, which will cost Rs 210 crore, inaugurate ‘Ekta Mall’ in Betkuchi, Guwahati and dedicate to the public the ‘Kapili Hydroelectric Project’ built with an investment of Rs 2,320 crore.

On March 14, the second day of the tour, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Guwahati-Silchar Expressway, the construction of which will cost an estimated Rs 22,864 crore. Further, fulfilling an important election promise, the Prime Minister will formally launch the distribution of land pattas to the tea garden workers of Assam during a dignified and historic event to be held in Guwahati on March 13. This step symbolizes the government’s unwavering commitment towards social justice and welfare of the tea-tribe community.
