Lucknow . Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 57 km long green corridor in the capital on Friday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several ministers of the UP government and BJP officials also attended the ceremony. The inauguration was held at Jhulelal Park and was dedicated to the public.
Reduction in travel time and new growth opportunities
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Lucknow-Kanpur journey can now be completed in just 35 to 45 minutes. Praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said that people know him as ‘Bulldozer Baba’ because he controlled the mafia and not only for demolition but also prepared the ground for new development.
Defense and aerospace expansion in Lucknow
The Defense Minister also informed that testing and integration work related to BrahMos and aerospace will now be done in Lucknow. He said that with the help of BrahMos, a befitting reply has been given to the terrorists and now if anyone tries to attack again, he will not be able to succeed. With this initiative, Lucknow will contribute in strengthening the security system of the country.
Focus on cleanliness and urban development
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the project was prepared with the same amount after removing the encroachment on the administration land. He also mentioned the plan to develop Lucknow as an AI city and emerging technology hub. He said that special attention is being given to cleanliness in the city and last year Lucknow had got the third rank in cleanliness.

Rajnath Singh and Yogi Adityanath together said that this green corridor will not only reduce traffic problems but will also create opportunities for new technological and defense projects in the city. The engineers involved in the BrahMos project are mostly from local AKTI, polytechnics and government colleges, which will provide employment and technical experience to the youth.
