America flag hoisted in Venezuela after seven years

Caracas: These days America is embroiled in a fierce war with Iran. Many of his soldiers were also martyred in this war. At the same time, Iran has destroyed many American military bases in the Middle East. Amidst all this, the news of relief for US President Donald Trump is that the American flag was hoisted at the US Embassy in Venezuela for the first time since 2019. The move reflects a recent turn in relations between the two countries since the capture of former President Nicolas Maduro by US troops in January.

This step to reopen the US Embassy comes after several statements by US President Donald Trump. In these statements he supported Maduro’s successor, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez. Delsey Rodriguez has tried to continue negotiations with the US government.

“The flag was raised exactly seven years after it was lowered,” the US Embassy team said in a statement released on its social media channels. It immediately caught the attention of local people when the embassy reopened.

Need to move forward by building good relationships
“It’s really a good thing, what a joy,” said Luz Veronica Lopez, a resident of Caracas. “Other countries should also come back, because we need progress. We need to move forward by building good relations with the rest of the world.”

Another resident of Caracas, Alessandro Di Benedetto, felt the positive atmosphere among the people witnessing the moment. “I saw many people here surprised and happy as the American flag was raised over the embassy today,” he said.

“It’s positive; it’s another step”
Despite this initiative, a large portion of Venezuelan society and political system remains critical of Trump. They criticize Trump’s decision to force Maduro from office and jail him in New York along with his wife, as well as increasing US influence in the country’s oil industry.

Let us tell you that on January 3, 2026, America took Venezuelan President Nicolam Maduro and his wife hostage while taking military action under Operation Absolute Resolve.
