Police-criminal encounter in Muzaffarnagar: Cow carrying a reward of Rs 15,000 injured, history-sheeter’s accomplice arrested

Muzaffarnagar. There was an encounter between the police and the miscreants late at night in the forest of Sisauna in the police station Nai Mandi area. During the encounter, Mehboob, a cow carrying a reward of Rs 15,000, was injured by police bullets, while his fellow history-sheeter criminal Naresh was arrested by the police during the combing.
According to the police, Nai Mandi police was conducting a checking and combing operation after receiving information about suspected miscreants in the area. Meanwhile, an attempt was made to stop two suspects riding a bike, but the miscreants started firing on the police team. The police retaliated, in which the rewarded criminal Mehboob got injured by the bullet.
The police arrested the injured criminal from the spot and sent him to the hospital for treatment. His fellow history-sheeter Naresh was caught by the police team after combing in the forest.
Police have recovered pistols, cartridges, stolen motorcycles and equipment related to cow slaughter from the possession of the miscreants. According to the police, more than a dozen cases are registered against Mehboob, while about 18 criminal cases are said to be registered against Naresh. During the encounter, New Mandi police station in-charge Raju Kumar Shav, Mandi Inspector Brijesh Kumar Sharma and SOG team were present. At present, the police is investigating the criminal history of both the accused and taking further legal action.
