Strong message to countries – If NATO does not protect ‘Hormuz’ then the future will be very bad.

Washington/Tokyo. US President Donald Trump said that if North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries do not help in securing the Strait of Hormuz, their future will be very bad. Trump gave a strong message to European countries regarding this strategic waterway.

“It’s absolutely right that the people who profit from this strait should help make sure that nothing bad happens there,” Trump told the Financial Times in a phone interview Sunday, CNN reported.

He said, “If there is no response, I think it will be very bad for the future of NATO.” Referring to the US’s help given to Ukraine in the war against Russia, President Trump said, “We had no need to help them with Ukraine. Now we will see if they help us.

I have been saying for a long time that we will always be there for them. When asked what kind of help they need from NATO? The President said, “Whatever is necessary. That may also include minesweepers.”

NATO is the European and North American defense alliance. It is designed to promote peace and stability and ensure the security of its member states. Its purpose is not to help any country when a member country itself starts a war.

As he returned to the White House aboard Air Force One from Florida, Trump reiterated, “We always stand with NATO.” He said, “It will be interesting to see which country does not help us in a very small task.

The President once again expressed his displeasure towards British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The reason for their displeasure was that Starmer did not immediately support the US and Israeli attacks on Iran. “Britain is probably considered our most important ally. When I asked them for help, they did not come along,” he said.

Japan is still neutral
On this issue, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on Monday that Japan currently has no plans to send ships to help secure the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said this on Monday.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had requested help from his allied countries. He said that Trump has not made any direct request to Tokyo. Despite this, his government is considering ways to take necessary steps. It is noteworthy that Takaichi and Trump are scheduled to meet in Washington on Thursday.

Currently there are a total of 32 member countries in NATO. The newest member of this military alliance is Sweden. The founding members are Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
