Why is there an uproar over Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke?

Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’: Even though the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from KVN Productions’ Kannada Pan India film ‘KD: The Devil’ has been removed from all platforms, the debate over it has still not stopped. There was such an uproar over this song, which was released on March 14, that the makers had to remove its Hindi version from all platforms. Nora Fatehi also reacted to this and expressed happiness over the removal of the song. According to the actress, she had shot its Kannada version three years ago and when she heard its Hindi version, she clearly told the makers that it could create opposition. Now the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has also issued a statement on this matter.

CBFC did not give certificate
When surrounded by this controversial song, CBFC has clearly said that they have not received any kind of certification application regarding this song of ‘KD: The Devil’. Along with this, it was also clarified by the Board that the content released on the digital platform is not certified by CBFC, that is, this song is not certified by the Board. According to CBFC, there is often confusion regarding the content available on digital platforms and people start dragging the Board’s name into it unnecessarily, whereas the Board has nothing to do with it. CBFC clearly said that songs or videos or any other material released on digital platforms does not come under the purview of CBFC.

What did CBFC say?
CBFC, reacting to the ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ controversy, on behalf of the Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) said – ‘It is clarified that CBFC has not received any application for certification of the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the film ‘KD: The Devil’. It is clearly worth noting that none of the content on digital platforms is certified by CBFC. There is often confusion in this regard and the CBFC is unnecessarily dragged into matters that have nothing to do with it. The CBFC is a responsible and accountable body whose members are sensitive to the portrayal of women in cinema and have made a sincere effort to move from controversy to constructive dialogue.
