UAE shot down 15 ballistic missiles and 11 drones, 11 people died in the attacks
Abu Dhabi. Amid rising tensions in West Asia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has claimed that its air defense systems successfully neutralized 15 ballistic missiles and 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) fired by Iran on March 26.
According to the UAE Defense Ministry, a total of 372 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,826 drones have been intercepted since the beginning of the attacks by Iran.
In these attacks, two UAE Armed Forces soldiers were killed in the line of duty, while a Moroccan citizen working with the army was also killed. Apart from this, eight citizens of different countries also died, which include people from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine and India.
The Defense Ministry said that a total of 169 people were injured in the attacks. These include citizens of UAE as well as Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Sri Lanka and many other countries. Some of the injured have also suffered serious injuries.
The ministry clarified that its forces are fully prepared to ensure the security of the country and any threat will be given a befitting reply. It was also said that the UAE will continue to take every necessary step to protect its sovereignty, stability and national interests.
