Indigo again increased flight fares

Delhi: The country’s largest airline company Indigo has once again increased the flight fares. After the huge increase in the prices of crude oil due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, the country’s oil marketing companies increased the prices of ATF. Due to increase in ATF prices, Indigo has changed the fuel surcharge to Rs 10,000. IndiGo’s new fuel surcharge will be applicable on every seat booked from April 2. Let us tell you that for scheduled airline companies, ATF prices have been increased by 8.5 percent, while for non-scheduled companies, the prices have been increased by about 115 percent.

ATF price in Delhi increased to Rs 1,04,927 per kiloliter
After the latest increase in ATF prices, the price of ATF for scheduled airline companies in Delhi has increased from Rs 96,638.14 to Rs 1,04,927 per kilolitre. Whereas, for non-scheduled companies, the price of 1 kiloliter ATF in Delhi has increased from Rs 96,638.14 to Rs 2,07,341.22. Let us tell you that this is the first time that the price of ATF in India has crossed the figure of Rs 2 lakh. Let us tell you that even a small increase in ATF prices is very important for any airline company. ATF accounts for 40 percent of the total expenses of an airline company.

How much fuel surcharge will Indigo passengers have to pay now?
IndiGo on Wednesday said that after the latest increase in ATF prices, fuel surcharge ranging from Rs 275 to Rs 950 per seat will be charged on domestic flights. Whereas for international flights the fuel surcharge will range from Rs 900 to Rs 10,000 per seat. Let us tell you that IndiGo started collecting fuel surcharge from March 14 after the war started in the Middle East. At that time, Indigo had fixed a fuel surcharge of Rs 425 for all domestic flights, which has now been increased from Rs 275 to Rs 950 depending on the distance. Similarly, Indigo had announced a fuel surcharge of Rs 425 to Rs 2300 depending on the distance for international flights in March, which has now been increased to Rs 900 to Rs 10,000.
