Rajasthan High Court ordered the member of Child Welfare Committee of Dholpur district to appear.
Jaipur. Rajasthan High Court has ordered the Child Empowerment Commissioner and Joint Secretary to appear on April 8 for non-payment of allowance to a member of the Child Welfare Committee of Dholpur district for the last two years. The court has asked the Commissioner to explain why the outstanding allowance for the last two years was not paid to the petitioner member. The court said that till then the department can pay the dues if it wants. The court said that when the state government’s lawyers are unable to explain the reason for non-payment, then it is appropriate to call the commissioner of the department and seek information in this regard. A single bench of Justice Ganesh Ram Meena gave this order while hearing the petition filed by Kavita Sharma.
In the petition, advocate Umashankar Pandey told the court that the petitioner was appointed as a member of the District Child Welfare Committee in October, 2023. Committee members are paid allowances for their work by the Child Empowerment Department. It was said in the petition that the department has not given any amount as allowance to the petitioner since March 2024. Due to which he is also facing financial problems. It was said in the petition that several applications were submitted to the department in this regard, but even after two years the dues have not been paid. The lawyer appearing for the department said that he is unable to give information in this regard. On this, the court ordered the commissioner of the department to appear and said that the department can pay the dues if it wants.
