Appam: If you feel like eating something healthy and tasty in the morning, then you can make South Indian dish Appam. It not only tastes amazing but is also beneficial for health. However, many people complain that the appams do not turn out to be reticulate, either they become hard or get burnt. In such a situation, let us tell you an easy method of making soft and latticed appam. So, let’s know how to make this delicious recipe?
Ingredients to make Appam:
Ingredients for Appam Masala: Oil – 1 tbsp, mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida, green chillies, whole red chillies, turmeric powder, potatoes 3 (boiled), salt, onion, coriander leaves
Ingredients for Appam Batter: Semolina – 1 cup, Salt, Sugar 1/2 tbsp, Curd 1/2 cup, Lukewarm water 1 cup, Eno 1 sachet
How to make Appam?
First of all we will make appam masala. For this, take a pan and heat it with oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and asafoetida.
When these spices start crackling, add finely chopped green chillies. After that add whole red chilli and turmeric powder in the pan.
Now add boiled and mashed potatoes in a pan, then add salt to it.
After this add finely chopped coriander, fry the spices and then take it out.
To make the appam batter, add semolina to a jar, then add salt, sugar and curd. Add lukewarm water to it and grind it.
Then add ‘Eno’ to this batter and grind it once again. Now take out this batter in a bowl and keep it covered for half an hour.
Now heat a non-stick pan and grease oil on it. After that spread the batter well on it. Take care not to spread it too thinly.
Now keep the gas flame low and let it cook for 3 minutes, then take it out in a plate. Make all the appams in the same manner.
Now, serve appam with potato curry and chutney.
